Boston, Mass – This year, mom will likely pass on flowers and chocolate. This Mother’s Day (May 8th) trend experts predict a spike in sales for e-readers and e-reader accessories. According to the Yankee Group, the e-reader industry will sell around 72 million units and expect a market growth of $8.2 billion by 2014. Amazon.com boasts the Kindle as its number one bestselling item for two years running. It’s also the most-wished-for, most-gifted, and has the most 5-star reviews of any product on Amazon. And retailers nationwide, like Barnes & Noble, Borders, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Staples and Office Depot, as well as a number online retailers such as Amazon are stocking up on e-reader accessories just in time for Mother’s Day. Here’s some of the most popular items:
